Last night, en route from Washington DC, Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill came to Woodland Park to tour the aftermath of Tropical Storm Ida. She met and consoled residents and heard firsthand accounts of what was experienced Wednesday night.
Topics discussed included the need for Federal disaster recovery funding to assist the Borough, its residents, and local businesses to restore and rebuild.
The Congresswoman emphasized her commitment to pressing for the complete funding for the Peckman River project which in large part would have prevented much of the devastation experienced on Sept. 1.
"I am extremely appreciative that our Congresswoman recognized so quickly the impact this flood event had on our community and came here to lend her moral and governmental support on behalf of our town," said Mayor Kazmark.
