Overnight on Aug. 23/24, the exit ramp from Rt. 46 West to Notch Rd. will be CLOSED permanently, to allow construction of the new Great Notch Rd. service-road up to Rifle Camp Rd. Reservoir Rd. will also be CLOSED. Access to businesses will be maintained from the Rifle Camp Rd. intersection. A Rt. 46 W. detour via Lower Notch Rd. or Browertown Rd. will be required for up to 3 weeks.

Urgent Messages Urgent Messages
- Use caution when driving along Lackawanna Ave. between the Rifle Camp Rd./Notch Rd. intersection and Lower Notch Rd. as it may be closed entirely or switched from 1-way to 2-way traffic without warning while the NJDOT proceeds with highway improvements in the Great Notch area. Notch Rd. and the Notch Rd. Bridge may be closed when necessary.
- BE ADVISED that additional construction will result in expanded road closures.
- Expect on-going road construction at the intersection of Rifle Camp Rd., Notch Rd., the Notch Rd. Bridge and Lackawanna Ave.
- Lower Notch Rd. is open to two-way traffic. Repaving may begin some time during before the end of August. A specific date will be posted here when the project is officially scheduled.
- Exit ramp from Rt. 46 West to Notch Rd. will be permanently CLOSED. And, construction of new Great Notch Rd. will require closing Reservoir Rd. A detour via Lower Notch Rd. and Browertown Rd. will remain in effect for 3 weeks.
- The intersection of Rifle Camp Rd., Lackawanna Ave. & Notch Rd. Bridge will remain open. Access to businesses off of Notch Rd. will be maintained.
- New traffic signals will be activated at the newly opened exit ramp for Rt. 46 to Great Notch Rd. adjacent to the Mobile gas station, but the ramp will not be opened until after Aug. 27.
- New traffic signals will be activated without temporary flashing period at the intersection of Valley Rd. and Great Notch Rd. adjacent to Gensinger Volkswagen in Clifton.
- Great Notch Rd. will be opened from Valley Rd. to the new on-ramp to Rt. 46 West.
